In-year applications

Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust participates in the Local Authority’s Co-ordinated Admission Scheme for in-year admissions. If parents/carers wish to apply for a school place, applications can be made at https://www.york.gov.uk/SchoolAdmissions via the ParentPortal. The Local Authority will confirm the outcome of the application in writing within 15 school days. If the application is refused, the Local Authority will advise on the statutory appeal procedure. Admission Arrangements for 2022-23 Entry

Between 12 October and 29 November 2020 all admissions authorities for schools in York jointly conducted a consultation on admission arrangements for the admissions rounds for entry in September 2022-23.

The closing date for comments was 29 November 2020. After considering any comments received, the MAT Board, in its role as an admission authority, then formally set (‘determined’) these arrangements on 11 February 2021.

Any objections to our arrangements may be made by parents/others to the Schools Adjudicator by the 15 May 2021. Admissions Consultation for 2023-24 Entry

This year’s Admissions Consultation is being jointly held by all admissions authorities in the City of York between 4 October and 14 November 2021. The consultation includes the draft admission policy and planned number of places available at each school in the year(s) of entry.

The views of parent/carers, schools and other interested parties are being sought during this consultation.

Following the consultation, each admission authority will formally set (‘determine’) their admission arrangements for admission in 2023-24 by 28 February 2022. Determined policies will be on the City of York Council website by 15 March 2022 after which objections can be raised.

Changes to policies

AHS Year 7 Admissions Policy – Additional criteria regarding the allocation of places for children of staff employed at the school:

In order to be eligible for admission under this criterion, the member of staff must be employed by Archbishop Holgate’s School:
(a) where the member of staff has been employed at the school for two or more years at the time of the application; and/or
(b) where the member of staff is recruited to fill a vacant post at the school for which there is a demonstrable skills shortage.

Heworth and St Lawrences Admissions Policies:

  • changes to the definition of a Christian Place of worship
  • changes to the church attendance period to once/twice per month for 2 years
  • removal of priority places for children of other religions
