In-year applications

Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust participates in the Local Authority’s Coordinated Admission Scheme for in-year admissions. If parents/carers wish to apply for a school place, applications can be made at https://www.york.gov.uk/SchoolAdmissions via the ParentPortal. The Local Authority will confirm the outcome of the application in writing within 15 school days. If the application is refused, the Local Authority will advise on the statutory appeal procedure. York Schools Admissions Arrangements for 2027-28 Entry

In line with the School Admissions Code 2021, we participate in the City of York Council coordinated admission consultation. The consultation took place between 8 October and 21 November 2025. The consultation has now closed. During the consultation period, the draft admissions policies, published admission numbers and related documents for Pathfinder Multi Academy Trust’s schools advise how admissions applications and decisions will be made for the 2027 to 2028 school year. Any feedback from the consultation will be considered by the Trust as the Admission Authority.

Any objections to our admissions arrangements may be made by parents/others to the Schools Adjudicator. All objections must be received by the adjudicator on or before 15 May 2026. For more information, please visit: www.gov.uk/guidance/school-admissions-arrangements.

Starting primary school in September 2026

  • 12 September 2025 – opening date for applications
  • 15 January 2026 – deadline for ‘on time’ applications
  • 16 April 2026 (or next working day) – National Offer Day
  • 15 May 2026 – deadline for return of appeal forms if appealing
  • 8 June 2026 to 17 July 2026 – admission appeals held*
