Joining a multi academy trust is a big decision and one that should result from careful consideration and discussion. We encourage schools to consider their future ambitions and talk to trusts who share the same values and aspirations for their students. We have found it helpful to be really clear on the things that we consider important in making these decisions, the first of which is by far the most important.

Things to consider when joining a multi academy trust:

  • Vision and values match with an unflinching determination to improve opportunities and outcomes for all children and young people.
  • Consideration of why you want to join Pathfinder, how we can support your school and how you can contribute to the trust.
  • Willingness to undertake a thorough two-way due diligence process.
  • Financial robustness.
  • A desire to be part of a thriving community of senior and middle leaders.

Once a school has decided to join us, we work with them throughout the academisation process. From helping to consult with key stakeholders and completing the academy order through to working with the DfE and LA on the legalities and TUPE process for staff, we support schools every step of the way to ensure a smooth transition into the trust.
